The story behind the boxes - Mother of Masks

Our packaging tells stories, some of which have been told for centuries. Tales from the land and folklore, of goddesses, animals and plants. They are each themed and unique to reflect the product within.

Each carton has been individually designed by Fez Inkwright a Bristol-based illustrator in collaboration with KELSEY. Fez’s main focus lies in conservation, folklore and ethnobotanical themes. This is the study of how people of a particular culture and region make use of native plants.

This month we're taking a closer look at our Mother of Masks box.

On the front of the box, surrounding our KELSEY logo we have the luminosity of the sun sitting centrally to the scene, depicting the divine radiance bestowed upon the complexion.

It is surrounded by the sanctuary of Mother Nature shown here by the raspberry plant: the leaf, the flower and of course the fruit, which also gives glow and hydration to the skin through this powerful mask.

The windows on either side of the box also represent that sanctuary and protection from the elements. Through them, we see some of the other ingredients of the mask illustrated.

The small but mighty purple Bilberry drawn here, is an antioxidant, fighting environmental stress and shielding the skin from damage. With fruits of lemon and orange on either side. The fruit acids from these citrus fruits provide cellular turnover and skin renewal. And finally the bright sunflower, representing the seed oil that gives nourishment and hydration to the skin.

We love our packaging and have had some truly lovely comments from customers. Why not share your images of our beautiful boxes and tag us.
